Sun Flowers

My sunflowers out in the garden were all but spent when I picked the last few and rescued them from being torn apart by the windy day. I brought them in the house and put them into the same vase as a span of white orchids already gracing the kitchen counter. They made unlikely companions, but I loved the two together. There was an energy and motion that I wanted to capture in my painting.
